Rita is not yet one year old and has already spent most of her life very ill with leukaemia. One of identical twin girls, her mother noticed that Rita had high fevers and was much more restless compared with her sister. When she was taken to hospital a blood test showed leukaemia.

Rita underwent a course of chemotherapy from October 2010 until February 2011, but unfortunately there was no remission. Unfortunately the doctors have said that Rita’s condition is refractory, which means it resists existing treatment methods. She is now receiving chemotherapy treatment to slow down the progress of the leukaemia.
